Fear is a basic human instinct and can be helpful when we use it to protect ourselves. However, sometimes fear can become problematic causing us to become more cautious than necessary, causing us stress and anxiety.

Phobias are intense fear reactions, and they are completely out of proportion to the potential danger. Phobias induce extreme anxiety and sometimes panic. These emotions can interfere with a person’s ability to go about normal daily activities and enjoyment of their life.
